Devoid of glitz, the resort appeals to guests seeking luxurious ease, comfort, and value, and the true Hawaiian spirit. From the gorgeous gardens and grounds, to the popular restaurants, to the front desk and concierge, the resort exhibits mastery of detail and unobtrusive service.

Amenity highlights: Three nights weekly at sunset near the ocean, a bountiful luau and Polynesian revue fills and thrills guests; daily, a health/massage spa and separate beauty spa provide pampering while children attend the resort's day camp.

Insider tip: A romantic stroll along the path and across the wooden bridges to the lagoon garden's falling-water sounds, fragrance, koi ponds, and flowering lilies is magical right after dawn.

Shuffleboard, table tennis, and oceanside massage typify the 345-room, four-wing resort's restful ambience. The separate health/massage and beauty spas also contribute to relaxation.

Padded lounge chairs around the pool represent the attention to comfortable detail that brings guests back annually.
